Rochester...our new home!

Since our last post we have had quite a bit going on. We have not yet started our cycle trip, but we have done some travel. When we found that we had "matched" to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, we packed our stuff into a Uhaul and started driving to MN. We arrived this last Monday...you can see the truck with our car on the trailer in this post.

We started house hunting on Tuesday and by Wednesday we had unloaded our truck into a 5' x 10' x 8' (400 cubic feet total) storage unit (pictured), been pre-approved for a home loan, seen around 12 houses total, and made an offer on the one we liked (pictured). Stacy's uncle John came down from near the twin cities to inspect the house on Friday morning...Thanks to him.

The house passed inspection and we have planned closing for late May. We are now ready to return to Seattle where we will board Amtrak on Wednesday to arrive in San Diego on Friday. From there we plan to start our bicycle journey. All has gone well to date...we are praying that things will continue to go smoothly for our adventures.

later,
KON

Well, your off and running, or should we say travelling, no leaping is a better word, no cycling....or is it all of the above? Hard to keep up with you two; you are about as crazy as John and Laura from the looks of your pictures! God speed to both of you on the this awesome adventure - with love and prayers,
Steve and Susie

Great house picture, congrats!
One question though, didn't your new home come with pre-installed gravity? You leaping lizards!
Looking forward to keeping track of your cycling adventure. Take care of one another and enjoy.

Hi Konrad and Stacy,
Your trip sounds awesome and you've met some really nice people! Kind of makes you believe in humanity again?! Northern Minnesota had 15+ inches of snow, but Rochester only had a light dusting like here is Prescott. It's gone now and the grass is green, flowers coming up. Your new house will be welcoming in June. Jackie has been looking at houses too and is focusing on Hudson, WI. Hope you continue a good trip. We're enjoying reading your blog...
Love,
Aunt Mary
